I couldn't finish this

Did anyone else have a hard time watching this? After almost an hour into the movie, I just deleted it which I don't usually do to movies. It just dragged with uninteresting and annoying characters, especially the main character, Rob.

reply

naw, I watched it all, I really liked it. And I lvoe John Cusack in movies,

reply

Totally agree, one of the few movies ever that I couldn't stand enough to finish watching.

reply

Cusack is usually very watchable but i found this boring and was indifferent to it, not for me i suppose.

reply

Well, for us record geeks, it was more interestin because it was ouf subculture and way of thinking extended into a romantic situation. Amusing.

I agree with frogca

My recent re-watch of it left me unimpressed, yeah. I saw this movie years and years ago and I don't remember disliking it all that much, I think I just thought it was okay, or even fairly good.

I watched it again just yesterday as it came up on TV, and I disliked it. The main character comes across as an annoying child. I realize that's the point of the movie -- he's finally growing up. But even so, he was tiresome and I didn't even buy that he'd truly learned anything by the end of the movie.

They just got back on the same train again without really growing as people.

As a music nerd, I just watched it for the music talk. Tim Robbins was a plus too. The love story part had me bored to tears. I give it a 5.

reply

Its one of my top 5 movies ever made.

My mind wandered a lot but I still finished it, I dont think I will ever watch it again though.

Lose the Game!!!!!!!

Sorry, but as I tell my film students: "There are no boring films, just boring people." Give this film another chance, and this time don't quite halfway through -- annoying characters grow. You're not giving it a chance.

There are no boring films, just boring people.

If you really mean that, you shouldn't teach what you teach. It means you have no value judgment.

However, there's plenty to like in this movie. It is a honest, funny and original movie with likeable characters that are still realistic.

I say the same thing. "'Boring' is not a criticism. 'Boring' is more a reflection on the viewer than the film."
