kinda weird to think

that Arnie looked like that 20 years ago... I know 20 is a long time but he seems have have aged increasingly.

reply

Increasingly?

reply

sorry I mean at an increased rate. like how dinero suddenly became old man dinero..

reply

Dude dont be ignorant. Some going from 51 to 71 is a huge leap. Much more different than 31 to 51. The body really starts to deteriorate starting in the 60's. Just the way it is.

reply

You're making me really depressed. :(

(not 51 yet, but it's not far off)

reply

I'm not far either. It is what it us man. Take care of yourself and the next 20 years should be ok. But really when you think about it our time is waning fast. I try to keep myself healthy and do physical activities while I can. Because 50-70 will go feel faster than 30-50.

reply

It's weird how the older you get, the faster time seems to go by. I don't know if it's just a few people that think this way. Hell I honestly can't even tell if this time-speeding-up-as-you-age affect is real or just a temporal illusion. It truly seems real.

Or maybe it's that as we get older we just get better at immersing ourselves into distractions without being aware of how much time goes by that has the side effect of making it feel like time goes by faster.

But I honestly also wouldn't be surprised if physicists somehow made the remarkable discovery that time does in fact speed up as more time goes by.

(Edit: Holy crap. I just typed this question into google [does time speed up as we age?] and learned entire scientific dissertations have been written on this topic. Damn!)

But yeah, I guess what's most depressing about watching Arnie age is that it happened in spite of all the advantages he must have had of expensive anti-aging hormone therapies and keeping himself in tip top shape could afford. I also try to keep myself healthy, run 10k a couple times a week. But I surely don't have all of what he's had available to him. As a movie star he needs to invest in keeping himself looking young. So if that's the result, what chance do I have? :\

Yeah I know it's all ultimately futile. No one beats father time. I just thought all the expensive treatments could do a better job of warding it off. Shit, look at Jane Fonda. :) Plastic surgery yes. But she's still smoking hot IMO.

And nearing the tail end of what you said, 30-50 has gone by pretty damn fast. Preparing myself for hyper-drive now. :)

Your post reminds me of this one I just read.https://moviechat.org/nm0001772/Patrick-Stewart/5f49dc718c7a50696c924ed4/Has-suddenly-aged-badly

reply

Thanks. I had respond to nightwriter. His was an insightful post.

reply

Yeh I rewatched this a few nights ago and noticed Arnie still had the hunky 80s/90s Arnie look about him.. I think it might've been the 6th Day or maybe T3 where he started to look like the older Arnie of today

reply

You know he's in his 70's now right?

reply

exactly, 53 to 73 is a pretty steep drop for everyone

reply

A LOT of people Arnie’s age are, you know, dead. He’s doing just fine.

reply

he looked old when he made this. now looking back to then he doesn't look as bad.

reply

It was the same with the Star Trek movies. from about Trek III onwards they were constantly criticised and joked about for looking older and older yet now if you watch Star Trek VI (or VII) they look ok and even quite young for their age (well Shatner anyway as well as the younger cast members)
