Wasnt Lara supposed to be a sadist ???????

At the early promotion of first parts of the game and the comic book lara croft appeared as much much more aggresive type of virago. The specific type that you could call by definition a sadist. Especially in the earlier comic books as far as i remember Lara used "bad language" with gritty faces and having turn on facial expressions during a shootout. That made Lara Croft cool.

Thats all what made Lara Croft different from all other women. And the political corectness - Boredom that is screwed up the whole idea for the movie.
