When does Lyndon Johnson appear?

There's an actor credited with playing Vice President Johnson but I watched this movie last night and don't remember seeing him. Anyone know when he appears in the film?

At the very end he makes some remark about how they're now going to be able to put all their newfound political muscle to work, and a few people say, "yeah, Lyndon." Other than that I don't think he has any lines.

The guy playing him does resemble LBJ, but a much older LBJ -- the way he looked late in his presidential term.

Yes, and I love the irony - intentional or otherwise - of the cabinet member saying to McNamara, "Now we can run the table on Krutschev in the Middle East and Southeast Asia." Southeast Asia didn't work out too well for the U.S. . . .

lol

Yeah. Thank God things have turned out so well in the Middle East to offset our losses there.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

He is shown in group meeting scenes during the planning of the U.S. response, and is shown up close reacting to Stevenson's U.N. showdown with Sorin. He has only one line at the end of the film, when he announces to Kennedy to "bring on the mid-terms", meaning the the mid term congressional elections.
To this day, there remains a hatred between surviving members of the Kennedy and Johnson camps. The Kennedy's always went out of their way to show that LBJ was not a Kennedy insider, and remained "out of the loop" on all major admninistration decisions. LBJ did in fact attend all of these meetings during the crisis, but this is a pro Kennedy film. The film makers made a statement here which could only be noticed by people familiar with the situation: That although he was there, LBJ was not an important player in dealing with the crisis, but more of a spectator who was there for the sole reason that he was V.P. LBJ was certainly no expert on foreign affairs (as his record on Viet Nam proves), but he was a masterful political operative, probably one of the best in history. Whether or not that played a helpful role during the missle crisis is unknown, but in any event was not shown in the film. He is portrayed as a piece of furniture, which is exactly what the Kennedy people were going for....
