I would only really love to see this film IF it does not shows an images of nipples or anything remotely hinting it. Well, woman nipples, anyway.
Thank you so little
[on a lighter note, Philip Glass' scores for the first two films in the 'qatsi trio are without equals]
If there's no 9/11 footage, I'm not interested in the slightest!
Hmmph!
["Any dictator would admire the uniformity and obedience of the U.S. media."]
I was surprised that there wasn't any 9/11 footage, considering when this was released. I suspect the images of Osama bin Laden were taken in the '90s. I assume most of this was in the can before the Sept. 11 attacks.
I wonder if Reggio has considered making a 9/11 film? It would certainly be very provocative -- much more so than this, which was more a collection of images (beautiful and repellent) than a cohesive film.
What does the Bin Laden refer to in this movie?
shareIt's been seven years since I've seen this, and I don't remember the context of bin Laden in this film, but as I recall it's just some brief file footage of him, the kind you'd seen on newscasts before (and especially after) 9/11.
shareDoesn't it have a message like all the other clips/images? It's it the "New World" segment BTW... ; one of the few images being 22 that I noticed.
shareUnfortunately, I don't remember much of this film seven years after I've seen it, other than being very disappointed because the first two films were much better. I barely remember making that post in this thread. Sorry about that. Did you say you saw this? Maybe you could refresh my memory if you recognized bin Laden in this.
shareIt was stock footage of what appears to be him giving a speech.
shareurgh, I know how you feel. Showing 9/11 footage is sick. I mean, do we really need to be reminded of how the government treats us like stupid dogs and setup the attack? It's demoralizing.
