shareyeah because he's a bogan, which is basically an urban redneck native to Australia, they love AC/DC, muscle cars, and swearing.
shareWhenever I hear the word bogan I think of this song.

Nah I didn't - what the *beep* he say?
shareWell he is the bad guy.
shareTry not to forget the fact that this man is a ruthless criminal. Not all Australians are like this, it's just a small minority that are used as a stereotype everywhere else in the world.

Well yeah, he was the "Bad Guy" of the movie! He wasn't supposed to be sugar and light, he was the Villain!
It was just part of his character, he wasn't swearing at his son, he was actually being a very sweet dad with the origami and all that.. Sometimes it's a bit hard to turn off the language after a hard day of gangstering!! LOL!
You're Perfect Yes It's True.... But Without Me You're Only You
Having seen the way that people on Cops: Adults from the US or Shameless from the UK (too name 2 from thousands of shows) act, it really must be surprising to people to see a show from Australia were people swear and do bad things in front of children. Jesus, 'Manner-less Australians'. You'd swear the OP was watching his first film after escaping his Amish village.
shareIt was greatly exagerated for the purposes of humour. Don't forget the scene where one of the kids fires a shot gun in the house and the dad just says "I got a splitting headache".
