I hated that Sue got killed

It was so great seeing Sue again and what shes been up to with her life, it was good to know that she didn't end up spending her whole life in a psych ward. And seeing Amy Irving reprise her role after so long was great. But i just hated that she was killed, she was always just trying to help other people she didn't deserve to die. When she died my mouth dropped and i felt somewhat heartbroken over it.

Watching the original movie so many times over the years and then seeing Sue die, it was a little shocking.

And i hated the way that she died, she just showed up at the party and got a spear through the head and was forgotten about instantly as if she was some random throwaway character. She was the sole survivor of the first movie and they kill her off in such a random cheap way as if shes a random party goer.

Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.

I hear ya dude. Her death was shocking & messed up. I would rather had see her get injured (from the party kill)& taken into a hospital instead of getting killed in the film

It really felt like an afterthought.
Sort of like,
"Oh, and by the way, Sue is dead."

It only made me mad because I really liked Sue in the original, and then to see her die in this one was a punch to the gut.She died basically trying to help someone. It wasn't as sad as Nancy's death in the third Nightmare on Elm Street film, but it was still very disappointing to see.

A bit of the old ultraviolence...

I really liked her and was so disappointed when she died. She initially turned down the role of Sue in Carrie 2, but then there were some flashback scenes that if a different actress were used, you could tell it wasn't really her. She felt they really needed her in the film, so she then said yes.

Did you ask Amy if she wanted to be in Carrie 2? Well, she said no anyway. Well, with a little effort we can change that.

Yes, I really hate that the greed of the movie industry is such that sequels are made that bring back important original characters but dispose of them lightly as in the case of Sue Snell. Sue was the sole survivor and only connection with the original film. For a while it seemed as if she was the central character. She took all the pains to find out the information and background about Rachel and tried to help her and her mother, and prevent another mayhem. She was a character that had survived 23 years! But as soon as the mayhem started, she was treated as a nobody and killed off quickly. There was not even any scene showing the reaction of anyone (especially Rachel's) to her death. This film had made a forced connection with the earlier film to profit from it, but ultimately showed little respect for the original.

A even better example is the original Halloween series with Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode. After the first two films, Laurie was made to die off screen in a car accident so that the series could continue in other directions. However, Laurie was brought back over 20 yeas later (Halloween H2O). Without one word of explanation, Laurie not only survived but had a teenage son. Apparently, many filmmakers do not even care about consistency anymore.

In the case of H20, the writers and producers ignored Halloweens 4-6, so she didn't really die after all. However, she did fake her death after Halloween II and moved to California based on the H20 universe.

H20 86'd 4-6 because the series had become a mess. I think that was a smart decision to bring it back to the original and make the story about Laurie again.

If you want to TRY to connect them, they do explain that Laurie went into witness protection, faked her death and changed her name. It was made quite clear in the movie.

She does seem so lovable in Carrie 2, I can only wonder if any scenes of hers were deleted that made her demise more meaningful. The fact that she survived the original Carrie is also a mystery that Carrie 2 only compounds further.

I think her death relies on the fact that she was a bully in high school and then became a student councillor a hypocrite or something similar. I also think her character is a way of showing the audience how helpless Rachael is, her councillor is a bully!

I think her performance hinders the character a little, Sue is too warm and lovable in Carrie 2 so much so that even though you know she was a bully, it doesn't really help her death be any more satisfying its actually the opposite effect I hate that Sue dies.

I think her character has a lot missing I think Sue's character has been hammered in the editing room.

I also think that the only reason she is in this film is so people that wanted to see her die will buy this film, she exploits fans of the original Carrie.

I think her character ark is that she is obsessed with telekinesis after witnessing the events of the original film, this leads her to become what she is now, she has chosen this profession because she knows from experience and study that telekinesis is heightened in those situations.

She may have even wanted to try to exploit Carrie in some way.

If you have seen the TV version of Carrie that was made in 2002 I think it ends with Sue helping Carrie to escape the town they live in, they both just drive off into the night together. Carrie is alive and well, that idea could go somewhere the producers of Carrie 2002 must have had an idea. my point here is that maybe in an alternate ending to the original Carrie the same thing happened and the sequel went with that plot instead of the ending we got.

Another thought is that this sequel is actually a sequel to the novel and not the original film.

What ever the case is I just feel that I need more elaboration on the Sue Snell character.

The death was so sick and meaningless, I just pretend it didn't happen: that the kid got killed through the door, Sue jumped back in time to see the horrible sight, then passed out and left Rachel's mother to go slowly inside on her own like she did in the film.
