Wow

I watched this again the other night after not seeing it for a while and once again, I was floored. The mentality of these people is amazingly low. I read somewhere that after Boys Don't Cry came out, the people of Falls City, Lana included, were upset at they way were portrayed as white trash, drunks, uneducated, etc. WHAT??? People, I am sorry, you did that all on your own during the documentary. I mentioned in another thread that if you are going to do interviews for a documentary that you KNOW is going to be seen all over the world, at least make an effort to look like you have SOME class and try and stay a little sober huh? Maybe review your grammar rules? Maybe learn to read properly before you go reading things out loud and sound like you didn't get past 3rd grade? Oh, and let's talk about fags and queers in front of our toddler. Yes, he can't talk yet, but we will make sure when he does he will have a colorful vocabulary. We don't shelter our kids in Falls City, they see it all. And since when does screaming in a microphone constitute karaoke?? And Lana, we appreciate your line dancing skills on display for us to see. You rock. I know I sound mean but I just can't get over how in the world they can get mad at the filmakers of BDC when this came out first and people already had formed their opinions of these people and it came from watching the REAL people, not actors. I feel for some of these people because they never had a chance, but the ones that still do, all I can say is RUN!!!

I agree. The real life people were WAY more trashy than they were depicted in the film. It's usually the opposite, but I would say that the film makers did the real people a favor and toned down their trashiness.
