I felt bad for Silas Wegg

Especially when John Harmon was chewing him out and wanted to twist his head off and throw it out the window. He deserved it but when the tears started coming down his face and Mr. Boffin still gave him some money after all that happend it made me feel bad for Silas. Sloppy should not have thrown him in back of that junk cart... The tears coming down his face told me he felt bad for what he was trying to do.

Yes, he seems to have had a hard life of poverty and pain. Ok, not everyone is going to plot the overthrow of the one person who has offered you a break and then decided to take it away again... but I think Mr Boffin's response was the right one, here's a couple of pound to start yourself up again, just no more.

Just watched that scene a little while ago, and I also felt some pangs of pity for Wegg. I think throwing him on the scrap cart was a touch too far.
However, I seriously doubt that he was crying any tears of remorse. I think he was upset that all his plans had fallen apart and more than anything, was humiliated.

I had some sympathy for him. But what surprised me was John Harmon's attack on such a disabled man. Not particularly heroic. No matter how bad Wegg's intentions had been.
