Why it's called 'Raven'

I know there was some speculation as to why the show is called "Highlander", but I found something interesting about the "Raven" name. Obviously Wikipedia is not always accurate, but the info sounds right:

"The character Alexa Raven [played by Dara Tomanovich] was originally to star as The Raven herself, a woman version of Duncan MacLeod, hence the title of the series"

There's other cool tidibits too :)

Dara Tomanovich's episode of Highlander season 6 was ONE of the episodes considered for a spin-off, but nearly EVERY episode of season 6 was a back-door pilot for a new series. If you watch any of the special features on the season 6 DVDs, the writers and producers obviously planned to call the spin-off "The Raven" no matter WHO the show turned out to be about.

Other actors who nearly got their own Highlander spin-off include Claudia Christian and Eric McCormack. Methos and Joe (Peter Wingfield and Jim Byrnes) even almost got their own show.

I would have loved it if Methos and Joe had their own show.

As a spin-off, Methos and Joe make the most sense. Ah well...

it was going to be called "The Wolf and the Raven" then they changed to highlander the raven, since Highlander is the franchise

I thought that they added the "Raven" part because Amanda is a thief and it's explained in the opening of the show that the mythological or the raven in the myth even stole the sun (pretty much the most treasured possession of the world since it can't function without it).
