Immortals or pre immortals cant have children

In the episode Bloodlines the immortal Morgan Kenworth had a son, who was killed. Immortals cannot have children, even pre immortals as Morgan Kenworth was in 1897. This topic was discussed between Duncan and Ritchie in S03E02 Line of Fire of Highlander.
