what I think is wrong with the show

To make this point I am going to compare it to Sesame Street. In my opinion the hardest thing adults can talk about with children is the diff between children and adults and things that only adults do but not children. Sesame street does that well where as Barney does not even approach it. This is why kids when there kids love Barney but when they get older they can't stand it. Where as Sesame Street deals with some very tough topics and even though you can be adult you can appreciate it I can name a few cases of Sesame Street doing this
1. Mr Hooper dying- This is part of life and yes children are sad but its none the less part of life, Barney would never touch a topic like this
2. Maria and Luis getting married- This would never be discussed on Barney but weddings are a part of life and yes kids don't do it but adults do
3. Maria and Luis going on there honeymoon- Remember Elmo wanting to go but he is explained to that you do not go on honeymoons the couple go alone


In summary this is my problem with the show and in my opinion Sesame Street is going this direction but it should be fixed. See as I understand it Big Bird is representing the kid watching the show, when you watch Big Bird he is the character the kids identify with. The thing is though he is not the most mature character on the show. Where as Barny is and Barney is essentially this big kid who you would not want to see an adult act like. If Barney had a mom or a dad he interacted with this would be better but they don't do that.
