One of the better movies of the late 90's but I jad not even heard of it until I saw it on TBS. Matthew Perry was phenomenal, as was Oliver Platt and Neve Campbell. I didn't like Dylan McDermott. Why does this movie get no respect?
shareI agree, I love this movie, I bought it for $.99 on Ebay brand new on DVD. Yeah I can't believe this movie hasn't been given the respect it truly deserves, it is a great film.
shareIt's underappreciated because it's awful. It's about as funny as an acid enema. Sorry, guys, but it's so contrived I could barely watch. Not to mention Neve Campbell's dire "free spirit of the week" performance. Gah- I HATE that sort of female character. So, SO false.

That's not a fair criticism. I've known several girls quite similar to Neve Campbell's character.

i saw nothing wrong with the movie or the charecters. i thought it was a nice heart warming romantic comedy. which is exactly why it doesnt get respect. lots of people who watch and critique movies only give movies good marks if they involve some deep meanings, or artsy techniques. dont get me wrong, i love both but if ever movie was like that it would become a tired art fast

shareTo all the people who thought this movie was awful: if it's not your kind of movie, so be it. But don't say it's awful cause it's a good movie in it's genre. If you don't like romantic comedies, you're not gonna like this one but if you do then you will love it( in my humble opinion). I'm not a big fan of the genre myself but I found this one rather enjoyable actually.
shareI went to see this when it hit the movie theaters i was waiting for what seemed like an eternity for this to come out on DVD as i kinda enjoy these kind of movies anyway this one i found to be really good they did a good job with the small score they put into this movie and after the movie i had feel in love with the soundtrack Duncan Sheik - That Says It All im proud to say i have that song with me everywhere i go. the movie was very good in many diffrent ways like a member said beffore me its on of the better movies of the late 90's i loved Mathew Perry it was hard to not see him as he was in friends as his role in this movie wasnt that far apart from the sarcastic quick witted joker. im a big fan of Oliver Platt he did a very good job in this movie Neve Campbell was amazing in more ways than one it was an improvement from her performance in the scream movies as for Dylan McDermott he was the only let down of this movie i havent seen him in many things so im not going to make a statement discrediting him as an actor i would just say that he wasnt great in this movie. overall if i had to rate this film i would give it a nine ou of ten if you have the time to sit and watch this take everyones views, ratings, how well it did or evean how much money it made with a pinch of salt dont pass it by just watch and see for yourself.
shareMcDermott... I haven't seen a lot of his work but he was great in Wonderland ( 2005) so I guess Three To Tango was a rare miss for him.

Me too...one of the rare funny comedies and has it's sweet moments too...I'm always recommending it to everyone and there's been few people who were disappointed.
I agree, panterken. I'm no fan of romantic comedies either (remember all those Doris Day-Rock Hudson ones?), but I did enjoy this one, mostly for Neve Campbell, of whom I'm a fan.

shareI stopped watching movies just for the pretty people a long time ago...The on-screen chemistry is spectacular though, which makes this movie so much better.
Well, it had a lot of funny parts, but it also had some stupid parts. Even though it's an overall good movie, I can kind of see why it's not super famous. Then again, really bad romantic comedies are still being made and making millions when they definitely don't deserve to. It's hard to predict. At least they still play this on TV from time to time. :)

This movie is so hilarious, I think this is just as good as Fools Rush In, another Matthew Perry Rom Com, but I think most of his fans prefer Fools Rush In. But they are both are great films.

"Why does this movie get no respect?" Well it gets some, it has a 6.1. Fools Rush In, Three To Tango, The Whole Nine Yards, The Whole Ten Yards, and Serving Sara are all legitimately funny movies, and if Hugh Grant were in the Perry roles they wouldn't be any better, perhaps worse.
