Why did it work?
The water that SHERMAN drank had some of BUDDY in it, but most of him was left on the ground of the station, the street, a car wheel, etc. Yet, SHERMAN recovers his entire intelligence.
shareHe didn't need to consume all of Buddy. It's like how Buddy only needed a strand of hair from Buster to even form back into his original self. He didn't need a whole chunk of it. Sherman only needed a piece of Buddy to consume and that was good enough as long as that GENE was back inside of him. And you know, genes multiply so he didn't need so consume all of Buddy. I hope that makes sense.
