This film is interesting, dark, and indy-ish enough that it should be on DVD, so who needs to be bothered to get it formatted to DVD?
I love Samantha Morton in it, she handles her character with a sweet naivete that ends up so tragically. The last scene of her hugging Joseph Lees and the look on his face rips my heart out every time I watch it.
I was lucky enough to catch this movie over the weekend on one of the HBO/Starz channels, and was pleasantly surprised. Since discovering the beautiful Rupert Graves about a year ago, I've tried to see as many of his movies as possible. This one proved elusive; no DVD release, and no clips, other than the trailer, on YouTube.
Samantha Morton was brilliant as Eva. I felt the pain of her being torn between what was in her heart, and the feeling of responsibility to her family and to the psycho Harry. Rupert Graves was very sweet as the title character, not to mention gorgeous as always!
The movie was slow and dreamy, but very well done IMO. I'd like to see a DVD release as well. It's sad that the lesser known dramas tend to get the shaft in that area.
