not as funny now that deepthroat was revealed

this use to be one of my favorite movies, its really funny, but is anybody going to find it funny with the 2 girls being deepthroat, now that everybody know who the real deppthroat is???

reply

You mean it did not require willed suspension of disbelief before?

Hahaha, I still maintain that Deep Throat is Betsy and Arlene.

so do i

reply

Me, also. I'm one of those Woodward-worshiping-journalism-major students and I was heartbroken when I found out DT's identity. I managed to block out and forget his name for a while, but I just recently heard it on the radio... so, darn.

reply

<<Hahaha, I still maintain that Deep Throat is Betsy and Arlene. >>

I do, too! BTW, I dig your Auntie Mame quote. You are clearly my kind of person, RetroDoll!

reply

Awww come on dude! Felt is just some boring guy. This flick made hilarious fun of the whole matter.

reply

Agreed w/above posters; Besty and Arlene will always be Deep Throat to me. I'm just waiting for them to come forward and reveal the truth :D :D

reply

it is clear that since we know who deepthroat is now, the movie lost a lot of interest

but i remember loving it when i saw it

the dude must have pissed his pants watching it

What does Deep Throat have to do with this movie at all to begin with??

reply

r u *beep* serious kid??? anyways im not saying the movie isnt funny anymore, im just saying it was funnier, cause you diddnt know who deepthrought was, and this gave you a funny answer

reply

I always thought "Dick" was a funny movie. It's ludacris to think two dimbwitted teenagers could have done this that it's hilarious. It's ubsurd to think this movie isn't as funny just because we know who Deep Throat is. If anything it's funnier now than it ever was.

reply

[deleted]

Um, you do realize "Ludacris" is a very clever nickname for a rap star, don't you? The word is "ludicrous" and Ludacris did that on purpose. The lack of education in this country scares me.

reply

What country are you refering to, since IMDB is a universal website.

reply

Oh, and it was founded by an English guy. Just so you know.

reply

It was ruined for me last year, when I saw All the President's Men.

reply

[deleted]

I thought it didnt make it less funny! This movie is and will always be hilarious.

reply

What? I saw ATPM way before this film and I found this film hilarious, even more so after watching that film.

Let's hope you were being sarcastic.

silly

reply

YEah . . .i did know that. I'm not a stupid as that moron. I just didn't want to waste my time by scrolling back up to his post. Sorry if you have some sort of problem with that . . .

reply

[deleted]

I'm fairly sure that any debate with you would be a complete waste of my time. Do you have nothing better to do than to insult people whom you don't even know? Shouldn't you be doing something better with your time?

reply

I don't think this movie is any less funny now that Deep Throat has revealed himself. I like the way that the movie manages to explain everything going on at that time through the girls.

I always thought Bernstein was a jerk, so I loved the wa he was played by Bruce.

American journalism will be a lot better once we have a generation of journalists who have no idea who Woodward and Bernstein were.

reply

Who is Deep Throat then?

He was W. Mark Felt, a high ranking FBI official. He was "outed" in 2005.

How old are you? Are you perhaps kidding? Did you truly think this movie told the real story of Deep Throat?

Why?

reply

Much later to answer, coolbluegreen, and I'm not the poster who said that, but...I can't stand W & B because even though, yes, maybe we shouldn't blindly believe in our President, after their big scoop and all that followed, plus their Pulitzer (I believe that was the award they won) ever since, EVERY REPORTER WANTS TO BE W & B AND TRY TO DIG UP DIRT ON EVERY POLITICAL CANDIDATE!! I am sick of the attack ads and ruining good candidates because of personal, even YEARS OLD, scandals!

Now to the OP, I wish they wouldn't have "outed" Deep Throat. Don't think it hurts the movie, but it would have been more interesting in history if we never knew who it was. JMO.

reply

It's still funny. What makes this movie is the characters, it's just a silly comedy and the characters are all great. Great acting.
