Is this the movie where an assassin disorients his targets by singing opera?

He starts singing opera, then the target gets all confused and drops their guard, and then he kills them.

The movie you are asking about is called Hoodlum (1997), the two assassins wielding pickaxes and singing to confuse the guards is played by Mike Starr and Beau Starr.

I tried to find the exact scene clip, but could only find this scene that shows the two assassin brothers with their pickaxe getting the contract, no singing in this scene.

Thanks! I thought I would never find out what movie that appeared in. I was renting so many crime movies at the time I saw that scene that they all blurred together. I had forgotten that two singing assassins were involved.

You're welcome! The scene stuck with me because it was one of my favorite scenes from that movie. I like how the two assassin brothers were arguing over who cooks the best kind of foods while making their way up the building to kill Bumpy Johnson.

I like to think American Gangster is the spiritual successor to Hoodlum because it shows continues Bumpy Johnsons legacy through his protege played by Denzel Washington.

Going to have to check out American Gangster! Bumpy was a pretty cool character.

Youll laugh when you see who plays Bumpy Johnson in American Gangster, because its one of the people from Hoodlum and its not Laurence Fishburne xD thats why I wrote its more a "spiritual successor". American Gangster is great, starring Denzel Washington as the Gangster and Russell Crowe as the law enforcement agent trying to take them down!
