It's basically the same plot as ROCKY V

I was only vaguely familiar with SUPER DAVE OSBORNE in my youth. I own Volume 1 of the Super Stunt Spectacular DVD. I heard of this movie, but for so many years I couldn't find it. But I recently found a still factory wrapped DVD of it at a dollar store for only $3.00.

The movie is okay. Nothing special, but I don't consider myself a big fan of his anyway. But one thing I noticed was that the basic plot of the film is pretty much Rocky V.

Super Dave loses all his money to a skeevy manager, decides to retire, and then takes an inspiring young protege under his wing, but then that same protege is seduced by a greedy business manager and hits the big time. He gives credit to the manager and fails to acknowledge Super Dave. Then the young man turns into a complete dick, and even challenges his former idle to a daredevil stunt to see who is better.

I'm actually a little surprised no one has brought this up before. I guess the SUPER DAVE film is just too forgotten for anyone to even notice.
