Anyone one else notice this?

First and foremost, I'm not complaining about anything. SF II V is pretty sweet.

However, I found this a bit strange.

According to streetfighter.wikia.com, Ryu was born in 1964.
He's 17 in this anime, which makes the year 1981.

However, according to the website, Cammy was born in 1974, and since the anime takes place in '81, that would make her...7!

I'm pretty sure the anime is non-canon, so I guess they made her older then Ryu. That's just my guess.

YOU LOSE. I smashed your girl, too!

Yeah, this show pretty much ignores the game. It's still pretty cool though.:)

the series is not canon when it comes to timelines cause really in the video game some of the timelines are messed up to begin with.

but its quite canon with a few changes when it comes to characters, plot arcs and relationships, though a few changes had to be made since all the characters plots are taking place in a consistant current time line such things as.

chunli being so young, being friends with ryu and ken, her father still alive, guiles reason for hunting bison happening in this anime arc instead of before...ect
P.S: I find SF2 V to be the best street fighter movie with SF II the movie being 2nd. and alpha and generations being total crap and being like 1 billionth.

From my understanding, the dates provided for the characters birth were a decision that Capcom of America made. I thought I read on a SF forum site that the Capcom of Japan never gave you any hints on Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, etc ages. But what we all know is that in SF1, Ryu and Ken were young martial artist starting their journey.

streetfighter.wikia.com is maintained by fans... and unlike wikipedia, they don't have to cite their sources or actually tell the truth for that matter... If you want real information, look for things by Capcom... Capcom lists characters birth dates but they don't include their birth year... (Just month/day format, for example... Ken was born on February 14th)
