Does this film include scenes from 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'?

I have some film footage from a concert film that includes a scene from the classic original 1951 film with Gort carrying Patricia Neal into the flying saucer which then takes off. All this is bathed in red, and seen opposite concert footage via split screen images. Is it from this movie that my film clip comes from?

Yep, this is it. I remember the "Gort carrying Patricia Neal into the flying saucer which then takes off" part, not sure about the red, but I'm guessing that's right too, and this film heavily uses split screen shots.

Sure does. I DVR'd this movie from Turner Classic Movies (4/17/09) and am in the middle of watching it right now. I saw the scene you were talking about and you described it exactly. I stopped to check to see if that was "Meat Head" I saw introducing an act. If it was, he has more talent than I thought.

Thanks so much too both of you for clearing up this mystery! I've had this film since 1981 but had no clue as to what movie it came from. Then, just last Friday, after all these years, I too saw this title on TCM. Well it was only the last ten minutes that I caught unfortunately, probably well past that scene with Pat & Gort. Yet enough similarities to my footage, which I can now properly label!

Also have the split screen shots from 1950's shows like "Dobie Gillis", "Father Knows Best", and the dancing cigarette packs, etc. that probably popped up earlier in the movie. Great Fun to see on the big screen!!!
