Not consistent with the 1st 3 ....

I didn't like the part where there was a narrator explaining what was happening, and the way Ogami Itto showed emotions was way off from how his character was portrayed in the 1st 3 movies. There was also some modern music sprinkled in.

It had a lot of good story ideas, but the pacing of the movie was dragging.

I found out that this was done by a different director, so that explains a lot.

imo, this is one of the weaker movies in the series.

All the films have modern music in them. The first film had similar narration.

I didn't notice the emotions on Itto except perhaps when he burns Oyuki or when he is severely wounded at the end.

I feel the 3rd film dragged, not much action until the climax. #s 2 & 4 had loads more action. Sure, they have drama moments in between but at a length of 80 minutes they move fast enough to never really drag.

I found this one even better than Baby Cart Goes to Hades.

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

I haven't finished watching the entire series yet, but I don't think there is fluidity between all the films. I think they are great individual films that occasionally continue a loose story line.
