Does anyone know if this version is out on DVD in the UK? I have the original 1986 VHS version released in 1991 here but I can't seem to find it on DVD. I realise there are all the series version dvd's and now a new fist of the star dvd series but what i really want is the feature length movie version. Can anyone help?
There is an old DVD, but i dont know if it is from UK or US. But i did never get it, think it must been realeased by Manga Entertainment. But was never in sight around here, so i guess it was a American release.
Otherwise, i have hard to belive it is another English DVD - release.
I realy hope they will release it sometime. I realy would want to have it to.
Dawn of the Dead ´78 is the best movie ever.
I just don't understand it? This is the version that everyone has seen and remembers from their childhood yet you go into the hmv or wherever and are instantly confused by the hundreds of different episodes and versions of this film, then find out that it isn't even available on dvd? its just plain weird!
There is a strange japanese 'all regions' dvd on ebay but i'm always sceptical of their authenticity
I have the original DVD (Region 1). It is very rare, and the last ones I saw for sale over three years ago were going for $225 used (there are more for sale now, see below), in good condition... Mine is mint, I can cap it for barter and trade.
If you do not care for the English soundtrack, you can get a Region 0 Japanese language version with subtitles for $10:

Weird indeed. I would go so far and call it a scandal. This movie is a classic, it realy deserves to get a fair DVD - release like most of the other inportant animes. I dont think they would need to worry about geting it sold.
