Breaking & Entering and Robbery on Halloween

What type of sentence would Sonny receive if this were to happen for real? Breaking into a man's home and forcing him of his possessions against his will?

reply

Death sentence.

Breaking and entering, threats and intimidation, stiff-arm robbery, and simple assault (I believe there was some unwanted touching, possibly a push, when he says "next time be prepared").

8-10 years in prison depending on how good the victim's lawyer is. Sonny is an a-hole.

reply

How hard was it to just move on to the next house?

reply

Yeah, if the police were called?

reply

Yeah I didn't like that scene at all... It wasn't funny! I feel that was out of character even for Sonny... he did some asshole-y things throughout the movie but that was a completely different level... like, the peeing on the restaurant thing, while I don't condone, I kinda feel that guy deserved it for being a dick and not letting Julian use the toilet... so I found that funny! Like, throughout the movie, we're supposed to believe that Sonny is a good guy deep down, when you take away the bad behaviour... intimidating and robbing someone like that isn't bad behaviour, goes way beyond that! I felt bad for the guy who he robbed (who is actually the director of this movie, haha!)

While I agree it was wrong of Sonny to break into the guy's house, don't forget the guy was kind of a jerk. He could've easily told the person on the phone to hold on, answered the door, and told Sonny he was sorry, but he didn't have any candy. Plus, he shouldn't of had his porch light on!

reply

It might have been an important phone call though... no one knows who he was talking to or what about! If I saw someone was on the phone, I'd leave, but maybe try again later if we passed the house on the way back!

reply

That's a good point, but... he still had his porch light on Halloween.
