LOL! I liked it, fair enough it is pretty far out but the first half was working pretty well as a mystery, around the half way mark i got threw off when the film started getting trippy but once i adjusted i just relaxed into bizarre finale.

I give it a 7.5/10 for people with a tolerance and liking for nutty shiz!

I liked it too. It was messed up, but it was typical 1960s Japanese stuff. It reminded me of Matango and Hausu. There's a certain wackyness but for some reason at the end I couldn't help but think of it as a tragic story. It wasn't the best film ever, but I enjoyed it. Crazy and interesting. It was like the Island of Dr. Moreau and Romeo and Juliet mixed together.

It was a typical weird-a** '60s Japanese horror flick, but it was the actor who played the main villain--Tatsumi Hijikata--who really stole the show in it, and who truly gave the film its genuine weirdness. He was an eccentric professional dancer, which explains why he seemed to just flow through his scenes in this cool eerie creepy way, lol. He also played a crazy psycho dude in Blind Woman's Curse, another Japanese horror flick, and one of only a handful of films he made.

Agreed. A cheesy borefest with five movies worth of plot, bad pacing, awkward direction and an abundance of annoying exposition. The final minute is so ridiculous that it almost makes up for everything, but I still rated it 1/5.

There's nothing boring about this flick at all.
