Why does he have a grudge against Goku?

I mean when Goku and Brolly were born on the same day, the guy said that Brolly had a power level of 10,000 and Goku only had 2 as a power level... Why would he have a grudge against him being weaker then him? They fail to really explain that aspect. The grudge he should have had should have been against Vegeta since well... his father is the one that left Brolly and Paragus for dead... Does anyone have the answer to this? Or does the Japanese version have a better explaination? I should probably watch thaton my DVD.

If I'm not mistaken, it's because Goku annoyed the crap out of him with his constant crying. Sounds stupid, but I'm pretty sure that was it.

reply

There has to be a better reson then that, I mean that's freaking stupid if that's why, it can't be becasue this is the best DBZ movie there is.

Yeah... Goku was a little cry baby while Broly was trying to sleep, but I still think there has to be better reasons... He totally should have had the grudge against Vegeta.

It makes sense to me. I think its because Broly's crazy that that made him hate Goku.

Its called Outside Influence Psychological Instability. When you're new born, you're still opening up to everything around you, and are very unstable, you're also very sensitive to things. The constant crying by Goku created a deep instability within Broly as he grew up, the noise bore into his subconcsious, which is what made him so uncontrollable, he was constantly responding to the drilling pain in his skull from Goku's crying.

How the hell he remembered Goku was the one who did it is beyond me.

"Love...? ... Is that why he's so strong?"

Hmm... I see, interesting... thank you.

The hair.

reply

I think I know how he remembered him.
Broly first got angry at Goku when Vegeta addressed Goku as "Kakarot"
So, in theory, if as you say he remembered everything then that name would ring out in his mind.

reply

Although why would the name Kakarot mean anything to the baby? As far as it we know, it was never said near him.

"Love...? ... Is that why he's so strong?"

reply

Well, in the DBZ Universe it was, although most movies don't link up, if you watch the Bardock special, Bardock passes Goku and reads then name "Kakarot" which, if Broly was awake, he might remember the name.
When he is older, he sees "Kakarot" remembers the crying and goes berserk.

reply

Seriously, that was one of the stupidest things in this movie. How the hell is he going to remember something immediately after birth!? How the hell is his father going to piece that together? And why he hell is that such a big freaking deal? If he's that damn sensitive then I hate to see what he did to the doctor that spanked his infantile ass.

lol becuase Goku's the main protaganist so everyone has to hate him but yeah that's the dunbest reason to have a grudge against someone. It should of been Vegeta not Goku.

This is a popular fan theory. It says that Broly, being the LSSJ, had special powers, and this somehow allowed him to catch glimpses of the future. SInce Goku was crying next to him, his power zeroed in on Goku, and he saw Goku killing him in a vision of the future. This drove baby Broly mad with fear and instilled a desire to kill the one destined to kill him.

If you watch the very ending, where Goku punched him in the same place he was stabbed, Broly has a flashback to where he and Goku were babies. It's implying that this moment was the vision baby Broly was seeing and became desperate to change by trying to kill Goku.
