does anyone else feel sad when vegeta disappears? i think its the first time goku and vegeta part on good thoughts for each other.
shareYeah it was pretty sad. But it wasn't really the first time they left a battle on a good note, watch the end of the Majin Buu fight. :P

He lost his body. That was his punishment for all the evil he did. HE wasn't bad enough to go to Hell, but he wasn't a good person either. So, as punishment, he had his body taken (it's been implied that the dead can manifest their bodes or just remain as souls since people have been seen as both).
For Vegeta, this must be frustrating as hell. He's got all that power, but without a body, he can't use it or become stronger. this was implied to be his punishment in the main series as well, until he made a deal to defeat Buu (according to King Yemma) in exchange for getting his body back. Vegeta even states that "The deal stands whether I'm successful or not".
