A rare gem!

This film has touched me on so many personal levels. For anyone who thinks that people can't change and aren't even worth the trouble--you should watch this. I saw this at a time when I definitely needed a lift and some hope and I was given both!

Yes. This was a good movie. Made me want to know about my roots and what I came from. Alfre Woodard was great as always.

This was a great movie. Why isnt there a picture?

A rare gem is right.
There's such quiet beauty in this movie, you'll want to just pause it and contemplate it from time to time.
This movie will stay with you for a long time and that's a good thing.
It's such a shame it's been so overlooked.

A simple, dignified and poignant story. Loved it.

i saw this in the theater in 98 when it was out. that was an intense period for me, watching just about everything that came out, nearly daily lol.

yeah it's a good one. and alfre woodard was totally rocking that dress she shs wore in this movie. she had such a stellar, mind blowing figure it just melts a brother's heart instantly.

for real
