I think is a solid policier. Okay, it covers similar terrortory as so many other police movies but it knows where its smarts are and sticks to them. The illegal immigration and Chinatown angles make it original enough to keep the attention. Great performances from the two leads also raises the bar.

Agreed, it's nothing original or incredibly brilliant, yet better than many other films with a similar theme.

Not the most original or exciting cop thriller, yes, but a good movie in its own right? I think so.

I concur.
I wish I had a good list of the best low rated films - best of the under 7 rated, so to speak. Naturally, tastes vary but to me this is a no brainer for the list.
Edit to add - I think this is the lowest rated film on the site that I like.
