Who sang the haunting song?

As the credits rolled, there was a haunting song sung but I didn't see who sang it. Does anyone know the singer and the song title?

In the trivia section I found this:

The song lyrics heard during the end credits are from the poem "A Town Window" by John Drinkwater, which was written during the period in which the story is set. In the song, Warwick has been changed to Durham.

Yet the interpreter remains a mystery.

Thank you florentyna, that is very interesting! I have just checked You Tube and there is no link there, and also through Google found no more than you have already. The puzzle continues.....I take it that there is no reference on the credits on the video? There weren't any on the TV adaptation. Thanks again for your help.

The music is by Colin Towns and I am the singer. My website is www.olivesimpson.com - but I don't have this track on any album: it only exists in this form on the soundtrack of The Wingless Bird. Colin writes beautifully for voice and I have had the privilege of singing his music in several drama series such as The Buccaneers, Brother Cadfael and some Catherine Cookson dramatisations. I hope this information is helpful and I'm glad you like it.
