Something that confuses me

When Tom first discovers the pictures of Jess and the Dad, he decides to confront her. Now, why did he feel it nessecary to wait til she was asleep, take most of his clothes off, crawl into her bed covers and lay on top of her to confront her? I'm aware of that the movie implies that he has sexual feelings for her but it still seems bizarre. Love the movie though. Truly a dark masterpiece.

I found a lot of similar things odd as well. Like earlier in the film after Swinton had finished breast feeding, she just sat there with her bare breast hanging out in front of everyone. Then the dad walking completely naked in front of the son. etc. The whole family relationship seems like a breeding ground for some sort of sexual deviance.

Thought this was interesting. There was juxtaposition between desexualized familial nudity and sexualized familial nudity. Somewhere in the trivia someone mentioned how important the "presentation of bodies" was. That's such a great way to put it.
It's unnerving, but when compared to what's happening behind closed doors I felt like I started to almost accept it... despite also thinking "it's a breeding ground for some sort of sexual deviance".
