How much older than Christopher was Tony?

Do they ever say? I never knew until recently that James was only 5 years older than Michael. Were they that close in the show? It seems like Tony is a good amount older because he's his protege and he calls Chris his nephew

At the farm in Season 5, Chris mentions being a pre teen, and Tony and Tony B. were teenagers. If I remember correctly, Chris was 11 and Tony was 18 or 19.

I don't recall them ever mentioning the age difference, but I imagine he wouldn't be too much older. And he's not actually his nephew. Tony was just a bit of a father figure for Chris after his dad died.

I know they arent real uncle and nephew, I just thought since they had that kind of relationship, where Tony views him as his nephew, it could a bigger age difference. Not a huge one, but like 10 or so years maybe.

There’s no continuity with age on this show. In D-Girl Chris said he was 3 when Crazy Joe Gallo was killed in 1972. In one of the season 6 episodes when the feds are talking to Carm about Tony and possible links to the JFK assassination, Carm said Tony was 3 when that happened. So, from this we are to assume there’s a 9 year age difference between Tony and Chris.

Didn't he also same something along the lines that Tony would play with him with his hot wheels and push him around in his cart?

When I think of hot wheels I think of under 6 years old.

Tony always seemed like something of a father figure/mentor in his with his relationship with Christopher. It would be hard to imagine there wasn't at least 10 years between them, maybe even a little more. In season one Gandolfini was 38 and Imperioli was 33. Just take 3-4 years off Chris and add 3-4 years to Tony and it makes more sense

In actuality, Chris is actually much closer related to Carmela than he is to Tony.

Dickie Moltisanti's mother was the sister of Carmela's father. So Carmela and Chris's father were first cousins. So her and Chris are first cousins once removed.

For Tony: Joanne Moltisanti's maiden name is Blundetto. She was Al Blundetto's sister (Tony Uncle Al), who married Quintinna (Livia Soprano's sister). So Tony and Chris are both first cousins to Tony B, but on opposite sides of his family.

Adriana explained it to the FBI agent in season 5 that Tony and Chris have another connection that's much longer and more drawn out.

And yes Carmela and Tony are distantly related to each other, but its through several marriages, and not incestual.
