Albert Barese repeating himself?

When Richie Aprile approached Albert Barese to get support for killing Tony, why did Albert repeat himself?

Hey Onemanarmy... that is something that Albert (Ally Boy) does frequently during The Sopranos. He doesn't do it all of the time but does it often. It is hilarious. It looks like the other characters have gotten used to it. Look for a clip on youtube between Albert and Richie A talking about Albert's dad Larry, and whether to take Tony out or not. He does it three times in that clip alone. Hilarious!

My view is that he was basically telling Richie "you're right to a point, but that's the way it is and always has been". Richie's beef with Tony is one that I'm sure many capos had with their bosses, but that didn't mean a hit was in order.

He didn't repeat himself, he repeated Richie's words back to him.

In a way, he's sort of deflating Richie's ideas about Tony as if they're just words bouncing off the wall with nowhere to go.

You are right...Albert repeats what others say. Paulie on the other hand has at least two scenes that I recall where he busts b*lls on someone, then repeats it to Tony. One was Sil regarding his first bj. The other was to Vito and Bobby and the ad for weight loss. "before, and way before". What makes that hilarious is that in a discussion with Sil, Paulie says about Albert "f that f'ing parakeet".
