so i liked this movie

It was good. Your typical Lifetime movie. The only part I felt was a bit unbelievable was that after Mickey told her mother she was raped, she seemed magically okay, like she hadn't gone through something terrible. She was clearly suffering after it happened, then she told her mom and poof, everything was great. I think it would have been more believable if Mickey was a little more scared or hesitant or something. Anyway, that's my only gripe. I love Lifetime movies lol.

Yeah, I saw this way back in '99. I really enjoyed it, and was foolish enough not to videotape it when it was showing given that I'm a really big fan of the Ariana Richards (who plays Mickey). Now, eight years later and I'm still searching for a copy from somewhere... anywhere. Heh. As far as I can tell, it doesn't re-run in the UK anymore, so I guess I'm scuppered. *sniff*

My only issue with Lifetime movies is that they seem to sacrifice storyline in favour of making a point. Which, thinking about it, is probably the whole idea. But, still, this was one of the better ones even taking into account my obvious bias.

They give this movie on Lifetime every now and then. I've seen it many times and did record it becauses I know the actor William Bumiller who played Coach Ansom. He's nothing like that in real life! That was when he was in his 40's and on the CBS soap "Guiding Light" and he's in his 50's now and a therapist in Los Angeles!

Anyways, I thought the movie was good but there were definite flaws. The beginning of the film shows the Coach about to rape Mickey so we know that this will eventually happen. It would have been better if they hadn't showed it so early on so that we get to experience Mickey's admiration of her coach and then the attack. We get to see how he went from someone we trusted to a total monster.

I agree that she didn't seem to be showing the post-rape condition. She did badly in school and she was depressed but she didn't really do a good job of acting like a rape victim. She just seemed very standard as an actress
