Influence on "The White Ribbon" (2009)?

A very good movie. I found the the narration by a resident who was also a relative outsider to be very reminiscent of The White Ribbon (2009).

The latter film handles related themes but more from a psychological rather than sociological angle. It is a more profound film, but I suspect influenced by the earlier Austrian movie.

Why do distributors insist on renaming movies? "The Inheritors" is a bland title that courts confusion with dozens of other efforts with that or similar names. "The One-Seventh Farmers" is a quirky and distinctive name that invites curiosity.
