Which Party Monster Should I watch First?

Does it even matter, or is there an appropriate sequence for the Party Monster movies?

I've seen the McCauley Caulkin movie and I am about to watch the "shockumentary", so I'll let you know in about 2 hours which one you should watch first. I'm also reading the book. yes, I am a freak.

I read the book first, then I watched the movie, then I watched the shockumentary. There is no particular order, they're all amazing

Watch the movie first, read the book next then watch the documentory. Yeah... that's the order either way it's all madness.

I've seen the movie, had to read the book, and look forward to see the 'shockumentary'. I was struck by both Calkin's and especially Green's performances; a hell of a job on their parts. I've been on the periphery of the club scene for years, and the dance community that is the legacy of the Club Kids -- oddly enough, I had discovered the movie a couple of weeks before the senseless shooting here in Seattle in late March. It really gives me hope for the human race the grace the kids in the community have shown after losing their friends; and it's nice to know that like every other community, only a few get lost in depravity.

Having said all that, it is still facinating going back and revisiting the Alig/St. James saga. A sick, twisted tale, but still facinating. What can one say? Except maybe "Girl, PLEASE."

Ive only seen the movie and look forward to seeing the shockumentary if I can find it. I also look forward to reading the book. After participating in the club kid/ Rave scene and watching this movie its hard to go back to 'normal' life with all of this carzyness. Ive stumbled upon something that has changed me forever, mostly for the better.

I dunno, I watched the 2003, and I still understood everything and i loved it too.

I saw the shockumentary first, then the movie. Never read the book. I didn't like the movie as much as the documentary. In fact I thought the movie was average at best. It was too over the top and I know that's how they were in real life but I didn't find it believable how it was portrayed in the film. Idk, maybe it's just me. If I watched the movie first maybe I'd feel differently but I doubt it.

I watched the movie first and then the shockumentary.

Liked them both.

I would really like to read the book.

I've also watched various jailhouse interviews with Michael A. (clips of which are in the shockumentary).

I believe it was either him or JSJ who said that the drug use in the movie was tame compared to what they actually did back in the day.

I don't think it matters. I saw the movie first, then the documentary; as it was hard to track down.
