to know Bette Midler played her in a movie about her. I'm thinking she would have went with someone like Jaclyn Smith or a Barbara Parkins look-a-like. Even Marlo Thomas would have been better than Midler.

Jaqueline Susann wrote risque books but she was classy in her manor,plus she was fashion model thin Bette Midler is a good actress but seems to only play Bette and not research anything about real people she claims to portray .

Very true. I like Bette Midler a lot, but to be honest she seems to be capable of only one performance....and she gives it over and over.
