Who is/was Florence Maybelle?

Does anybody know who this women was/was supposed to be? She is supposedly Susann's best friend and in the movie she's mentioned as an actress who had at least one part in a TV show. I can't find any real life person with that name, though.
Anybody have a clue what actress it really was? Thx!!

I don't know, but Stockard Channing looks so much more like Jacqueline Susann I couldn't watch the scenes with her without wishing Stockard had been the one cast as Susann!!
