Not Such a bad film!

Hey, i think the summary of "Wow! What A Bad Film!" was a tad harsh.. its half an hour thru in the UK and it aint That bad.. I think it shows good stuff about the wife buying industry (I don't know anything about it though).
Probably I have low expectations because its 1 am on TV.. I saw The Truth about Charlie in a cinema and wasn't too impressed, if i'd seen it on TV i'd thought thouhgt it was fairly good tho prolly.. apart from the 1 minute temptation of sex at the start never to be shown again...

I liked parts of it. The script was so simple-minded it was almost bizarre, the production values were pretty low, some of the actors seemed as if they'd been plucked from the sidewalks of Hollywood and told they were going to be in a movie, and Michael Madsen behaved as though he'd memorized his lines in the car on the way to the shoot. But the lead actress, Julie Lee, was kind of impressive as a good-looking martial-arts tough girl. I'd love to see more of her, but it appears that all her other movies have been in China (Hong Kong, wherever). Now that she's in her fortieth year I don't suppose she'll ever have a big breakout in the USA. This grade-Z action flick wasn't that kind of vehicle! Too bad.

Haha! This film is an absolute comedy! What the hell is Madsen doing wearing that hat in the scene at the police station?! Other moments that had me rolling with laughter include: ANY that involve Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa's character (and the way that he completely overreacts all the time, destroying things and often killing every girl he shares a scene with); the back-alley fight sequence with the disabled guy; the 'romantic' jazzy poolside montage; Julie Lee's amazing delivery of one-liners; and ALL of the dialogue in general!

It's quite possibly one of the worst films I've ever seen, but was clearly done on a budget, so I'll forgive it. Especially considering the smile it put on my face.

i agree, low budget but this is entertaining stuff :)

I rarely laugh out loud during a movie, but I thought Cary-Hiriyoki (he is so cool!)'s line "I have the worst luck with women" was genuinely very funny.
