I read somewhere the film crew found this who was working in bus station as shoe shine boy. The film director when to him and ask him if he would to auditon for Central Station, and the boy said "Yes" and he did audition and got won his part in Central Station. So look out guys one day some Hollywood
director could come to you and ask you if you would like a part in a movie, so be ready cause that could happen to you.

When Salles asked him t audition, he apparently said yes, on the condition that all his friends (working with him in the street) could all audition as well.

He really did give one of the most natural, affecting and memorable performances I've ever had the pleasure of seeing from any child actor. He should go on to great things as an adult.
