Central Station or Behind the Sun

Both are great movies but, which one do you prefer? Central do Brasil or Abril despedaçado?

for me central station is the better film i love how the relationship between dora nad josue develops, however behind the sun is also a very good film i liked it a lot, Central station gets my vote because i can watch it a thousand times without getting bored of it, its just one of the nicest films i have seen

They are both outstanding films, but I too have to say Central Station because of the deep, profound emotional impact it left on me. It was such an affecting, heart-rending film, so beautifully acted and crafted all round, and such a warmly hopeful portrait of humanity too. We need more movies like this.

tough one....I loved both. There is a great deal of trancedance in both that is so inspiring. I choose central station though. I think the themes within it are much more current and easily applicable to life. Though that could be argued. I will say this: Walter Salles is my fav director!

Tchau!

No contest. Central Station for sure. Although beautifully crafted, Behind the Sun has such a gruesome subject matter, it was, for me, more difficult to watch, even though the hero does the right thing in the end. Central Station is a remarkable film and deserved the Oscar for Best Foreign Film instead of Life is Beautiful.
