This is a movie that could be a huge remake!!

While watching this I couldn't help but think just how good it really could be. It is a mixture of Bloodsport and Kickboxer. I am not saying that the film is good because it kinda sucks but the mass potential is there. It's too bad martial arts films were so low budget back. This film also shows just how big of an impact jean claude van dam really had on the martial arts world. I don't care how much you despise the guy, he took Bruce Lee's torch and carried it. Without him this is all we would probably have now, low budget, badly edited, and dubbed knockoffs. Anyway the film has some very moving scenes and a great final fight but isn't anywhere near as good as it could be. It's kinda like a bad science experiment.
Anyway I would love to see Van Dam play lead in a big budget remake of this. We need action stars back on the map because that genre has been taken over by romantic comedy sissies.

Just like in kickboxer tom po breaks the dudes back for no reason but to show his dominance. Bolo was drunk in his fights and it showed him get drunk, he did it because he felt there was no competition so him being drunk might help even that out. He said it earlier in the film when he was sparring and had an entire group try and attack him. He is pretty much the same character here and in bloodsport. It was a weird movie but was a little different from the other revenge films because the masters the one who takes revenge. Karate kid never did that lol.

"What's so good about karate kid, he waxed cars and painted fences and that made him a great fighter? Oh, maybe it was because he was dating Elisabeth Shue, hot hot hot."

This movie does not need a remake. It's hilarious and entertaining. It would have been even more funny if the "gang" would of had something to do with the tournament too. I couldn't stop laughing at the white guy in shades.

I came to this forum after thinking of how good the idea was for this movie. But how utterly bad the execution was.

I hated the gang in this film. It ruined it. I hated the lead of the gang who he teaches first as he could not act and was irritating.

But when it got going with the actual story the idea was brilliant.

I also loved the music in this film. both the action music and the depressing down on his luck music.

People always remember fighting movies with an unusual twist - who can forget Best of the Best for example. And this would be great.

Jackie Chan, if you are reading this :) remake this film.
