those glasses!

this would've been a perfect as a korean movie could get if it were not for the glasses at the end. it annoyed me to no end that the leading actor didn't take them off. if the director and actors did their homework, after all that fuss about taking the old woman's glasses off it'd made much more cinematic beauty for the photographer to take them off and cut directly to the end. without the funeral photo being shown explicitly, just had him take off those glasses and directly to the girl standing in front of the shop and it'd been much more powerful. however, as it is every scene is perfection and sublime in this movie's study of the simple and subtle moments of life. it's almost on the same level as ozu's movies with the implied moments that makes up life's most memorable events.
