am i missing something?

from the poor editing, dodgy camerawork and that annoying laugh this has to be the most boring rubbish i've seen in years. I've never criticised a film on here before but this is a first.

And before anyone says that i cannot appreciate korean films then i can tell you that films such as Welcome to Donmgmakol (spelling?) are far superior.

Love film? Really??

Classic case of no-one daring to criticise. If you want a passionate love film then try Road Home or even Casablanca.

Ok cue abuse!

i dontt completly disagree with you, but i did enjoy this film quite a bit ..i was drunk at the time probably helped. however if your going to criticise the filmaking dont offer welcome to dongmakol as a comparison, although dongmakol is a great film there was a huge deal of amateurish filmaking in it(poor cgi, even worse green screen, awful use of western actors etc) i would say the director of this film is more competant. i would reccomend memories of murder if you want to witness a great korean director or anything by Chan Wook Park.
dont take my post the wrong way wasnt meant as a ''attack''

you're an idiot. who said this was a "passionate" love film? why do you have this need to compare it to films that has absolutely nothing in common with it? well, nothing I say really matters here because you're either a kid or stupid.

agreed!!

Ah bless. Personal insults from a kid in his underpants. Ooh I'll never venture an opinion ever again.

you obviously had too much expectation. it is a simple movie. and in this case simple is beautiful. and it is most obviously not rubbish!!

I'm not afraid to criticize any film, if I think it deserves it.

However, among the hundreds (yes hundreds) of South Korean films that I have seen, this one stands out among my favourites. I am not Korean or of Korean lineage, by the way.

The first time I saw it many years ago, I recognized that despite the lack of production values that didn't come until a bit later in S.K. movies, it's a simple, yet beautiful story. To me, it's very memorable, and I have re-watched it several times.

It is not a passionate love story, nor is it meant to be. It's a subtle yet powerful film, in my opinion.

I'm afraid that the synopsis here at IMDB is a bit misleading.

Welcome to Dongmakgol
is a very good film. I prefer this movie.

To each his own. You'll get no abuse from me.
