Trey Parker tribute in South Park movie

I think the shot of Kenny with his chest ripped open and his ribs showing was Trey Parker's tribute to "The Act Of Seeing with One's Own Eyes" and his former professor Stan Brakhage.

You'll forgive me if I don't stay around to watch. I just can't cope with the freaky stuff.

Actually, you could be right. It is hard to fully say though because South Park, while it is a very funny show, includes no real physical examination of the act of autopsy and THE ACT OF SEEING WITH ONE'S OWN EYES gives us nothing but the examination of autopsy. So Trey Parker and Matt Stone may have just see it as this and decided to give a small homage to Stan by putting a simaler scene in their SOUTH PARK film. I never would have thought of this. Good eye!

Two further facts would seem to back up your idea:

1) Some people say that the South Park character Stan is named after Stan Brakhage,

2) Brakhage appeared as an actor in Trey Parker's "Cannibal The Musical".

Well spotted!

Now I'm very curious about seeing Cannibal! I hope it's on Netflix so I can see it.

I don't see why should rely on Netflix; they have maybe twelve movies total, so you'd be missing out on a lot if that's your only source. There's even a world outside the internet and much of it contains movies!

Here's to hoping they come to Vimeo or Youtube
