Is There a Good Series in Here Somewhere?

I was hoping that this show would turn out to be a forgotten gem. IMO, that wasn't quite the case. With the exception of one or two scenes, it was definitely a one and done for me. Do you think there's anything that could have been done to improve it?

It needed i to be edited down to a 90 minute film. As a series it was dull and pants.

Its that man again!!

I agree. The aliens were just the standard giant insects and they didn't bring anything new to the table. Most of the characters were as dull as tar so that didn't help matters. I did like Helen - she was as underwritten as the rest of them but her character had potential, but maybe just for a standard drama rather than scifi. If someone was sitting down to write this scrpit today, they could do a period piece about the SIB witch-hunts that were going on in the late nineties (Here's a link to an article about them http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/jul/05/uk-military-generals-attend-lgbt-conference).

Nope. I still cannot believe this po-faced rubbish was written by the same person behind the (excellent) satirical medical drama Cardiac Arrest. I was almost personally offended, it was so bad, and IIRC it killed off homegrown Sci-Fi on the Beeb for a good few years.

Perhaps less talking heads and more action and I don't mean of the shoot and kill or sexual love scenes. I mean moving the story forward through having the characters do something.

Another issue was I did not like the lead protagonist. She absolutely irritated me every second of screen time she had.
