shareSeveral years ago (circa 2001-2) LCK had his Short Films DVD for sale on his website, saying that if he sold enough of those he would press Tomorrow Night and sell it. Guess he didn't move enough units. I bought mine. That disc was quite awesome, especially for being homemade, and had bonus commentary from Louie, and featured a ton of NY standup and improv fixtures that have since gone onto huge things. Only one of those shorts (Legend of Willie Brown) even has an imdb listing, despite several of them winning awards and airing on IFC and Sundance.
I'm still itching to see Tomorrow Night. I'm glad the standup has really, really taken off in the last few years but I remember Louie talking about trying to get another movie - Annie's Beard - off the ground before doing his HBO show and wonder what kind of movie he could turn out these days. He's a fantastic absurdist/surrealist when he gets behind the camera, Pootie Tang notwithstanding, although that's held up better than I ever thought it would.
