i'm interested in knowing if this was ever released can't find it on amazon or ebay anyone know where i can obtain a copy of this?

No, it wasn't, but I have a 2VCD of the movie. It's been so long I've forgotten where I got it from. If I find out where I got it, I'll let you know. I think it's from Japan.

This film has been issued on Region 1 DVD from TGG Direct as a double feature disc with "Runaway Train."
