Any fans of The Suckling about?
Everyone says its bad but is there anyone that actually likes it? Are there no other fans of trashy b movie cinema like myself?

sharei like it, it reminds me a lot of "deadly spawn," "flesh eating mothers" and "invasion of the blood farmers,"
same type of atomsphere as those films, looks like it was shot in the midwest by amateurs but has some good gore

Yeah, The Deadly Spawn is cool and quite similar, though better I would say. I didnt really like Flesh Eating Mothers. The woman who plays Candy in The Suckling also has a part in Flesh Eating Mothers, as does the topless nurse. Francis Teri also worked on Flesh Eating Mothers, hence the similarities.
shareJanet Sovey, who played Big Momma in The Suckling, was also in Flesh Eating Mothers.
I definatly love b horror flicks. Some are fun to watch b/c of the bad acting, directing, writing, f/x and everything left unsaid. One bad movie I recommend is "The Abomination". It's so bad it has to be seen to be believed.
But still, it's better than House of the Dead. :)
I thought "The Suckling" was delightfully dreadful, with hilariously horrendous acting, pathetic dialogue, a laughably ludicrous monster (I love how the murderous mutant fetus strangles and decapitates its victims with its deadly umbilical cord!), and an incredibly inane story that's treated with utmost seriousness by the severely misguided filmmakers. It's a true trashy hoot which I'm glad to say I own on DVD. The whole sequence with the aborted fetus being flushed down the toilet and winding up in the sewer where it's exposed to toxic waste made my jaw hit the floor; it's so tasteless that it's simply stupendous to behold.
"Warren Oates died for our sins"
I just loved the fact that the toxic waste barrel was basically just laying in like an alley...

I own a bootleg copy and want to revist this soon. I did see this and it was awesome in it's bad taste. I loved the make up test scenes at the end.

I loved it.
shareIt was a good film. Somewhat slow at times, but effectively disgusting. Callous teenie morons and guffawing frat boys will find it "hilarious" as they use their two braincells to laugh away their stupidity. Viewers with emotional intelligence will realize that, while cheap and, at times, over the top, it's the concept, the IDEA of it that is disturbing.
This is a perfect example of why I subject myself to horrible b-movies. Because, once in a while, you find one whose inspiration exceeds its limitations.
