Booth Parker (Spoilers)

We see that Booth's partner shot him. It looks like a gut shot, rather than a heart shot. He's sprawled on the ground, but we never see any confirmation that he is dead or that his partner finished him off if he wasn't. What do you think? Is it possible he survived? Either way, he's not spending the money--he's either dead or he's going to jail for a very long time.
