Terrible portrayal of Northern Ireland

This makes everyone think that the whole province is full of psychotic nutters. Its horrible. Definitely not on the list of films the Northern Ireland Tourist board would recommend, and with good reason. Is this the way Catholics really think Protestants are like? Thats terrible. By the way, I'm not from Northern Ireland. A much better film of the period is Nothing Personal, it deals with the same subjects, but in a much more realistic manner.

Well, I am from Northern Ireland, and this movie sucks. I completely agree with jjdyes above. Maybe things were much different in the `70s/80`s, but even so, the place wasn`t overrun with psycho terrorists.

Unfortunatly, the Shankill Butchers were real. Yes, Belfast wasn't overrun with them but they did occur.

Nothing Personal, IMHO, is hilarious. Overwrought acting and storyline.

the thread isnt about parkhead, its about a *beep* totaly unrealistic portrayal of the shankill butchers' stalking days. It doesnt even take the oppertunity to show how brutal and sadastic they were, and the torture methods they used are enough to frighten fans of the Saw series.

To be fair, it's an adaptation of a novel. Not actually about the Butchers themselves. It's more about psychology and perception of others.
